Speed-read — Week 4

This week is about building practical supports around your actual brain.

ADHD-friendly systems work best when they reduce friction, lower shame and make the next step easier to start.

Recognise: Notice what part of life no longer fits.
Acknowledge: Name what you are tired of forcing.
Understand: How friction affects task initiation, consistency and recovery.
Move Forward: Build one small support system for a real part of your life.

Your milestone: build one ADHD-friendly support system.

Choose one area of life where the setup feels harder than it needs to be. Do not pick everything. Pick one.

Morning routine. Work. Study. Money. Housework. Food. Sleep. Admin. Relationships. Communication. Appointments.

If the system only works when you are at full capacity, it is not a reliable system.

Workbook prompt

What area of life feels like it needs better support?

You may be tired of forcing consistency, memory, energy, motivation, neatness, emotional steadiness or productivity.

Naming this is not giving up. It is the start of designing better supports. You are allowed to stop measuring yourself against systems that were never built for your brain.

Workbook prompt

What are you tired of forcing?

Friction makes a task harder to start, remember, continue or recover from. ADHD-friendly systems often work by making the useful action more visible, smaller, easier, earlier or better supported.

Ask: Can I remove one step? Can I make the start smaller? Can I make it visible? Can I pair it with something? Can I ask for body doubling? Can I create a recovery plan?

Workbook prompt

What friction is making this harder than it needs to be?

Choose one system for the next seven days. Keep it small. A system is not a personality transplant. It is a support.

Include: what it supports, what gets in the way, what reduces friction, what the smallest version looks like, and what you will do if it drops off.

Workbook prompt

What is one small system you can test for the next seven days?

This is your final integration moment. What has shifted for you over four weeks?

Week 4 Milestone

✨ This is the final milestone. Tick when it feels true for you.

Build a Life That Fits

  • What does this support?
  • What usually gets in the way?
  • How can I make the starting point smaller?
  • How can I reduce decisions?
  • What is the good enough version?
  • What is the recovery plan?

A system that drops off is not proof you failed. It is information. Adjust, reduce friction, return without shame.

You do not need to finish this course as a different person.

The point was never to become perfectly organised, perfectly regulated or perfectly consistent.

The point was to know yourself with more accuracy and less shame.

Recognise. Acknowledge. Understand. Move Forward. Come back whenever you need the structure again.
